Steam/Water Flat Gage Glass

The Steam/Water Flat Gage Glass is a heavy walled design for steam/water service for steam pressures under 900 PSIG and 532° F. It is available in visible lengths up to 12.5" in a single section (body) design and up to 35" in a three section design.

Features

  • Designed for service under 900 PSIG @ 532° F
  • Visibility's up to 35" in multiple section gage glasses
  • Dual belleville spring design for even loading on glass & mica
  • High quality mica (V1 quality available) for reduced maintenance
  • Heavy walled body design to reduce warping of borosilicate glass

Design
The steam/water flat gage glass is designed to meet ASME Boiler Codes, Section I for boiler gage glasses. The Flat gage glass incorporates a twin bolted cover plate design to reduce point loading on the glass & mica. The flat gage glass incorporates a twin bolted cover plate design to reduce point loading on the glass & mica. The borosilicate glass is protected by a high quality mica shield. A dual belleville design provides for constant loading on the glass. Grafoil cushioning and sealing gaskets seal the borosilicate glass into the gage body.

High tensile stainless steel bolts are threaded into the gage glass body for corrosion resistance and ease of maintenance (no U bolts). The gage bodies are coated with a high temperature stainless steel coating.

Steam/water flat gage glasses can be provided with either end connections or side connections. Tie bars (or direct to drum assemblies) or water columns can also be provided to stabilize the gage glass and provide extra weight support.
