Penberthy Product Sales Announcement Canada

TYCO VALVES AND CONTROLS PROPHETSTOWN ANNOUNCES FORMAL RELEASE OF A NEW SERIES OF BOILER TRIM ELECTRONIC LEVEL INDICATORS. MAJOR BOILER MANUFACTURERS WILL WELCOME THE NEW DESIGNS RECOGNIZING THE TYCO PROPHETSTOWN FACILITY AS THE LEADERS IN LEVEL INDICATION.

The new introduction of Tyco Valves and Controls Boiler Trim Electronic Level Indicators will create a positive position at major End Users, OEM and A&E accounts. The expanded models will offer the customer additional options and cost savings.

Applications will be:

  • Boiler Drum Level Indication
  • Mainsteam header drains
  • Hot and cold reheat
  • Turbine extraction drain
  • Turbine water induction prevention [TWIP]
  • Hot well alarms
  • Deaerator storage level alarms
  • HP and LP Feedwater Heaters
  • Blow-down flash tank

Based on the conductivity probe technology now widely accepted in the industry, all models are specifically designed to meet industry’s growing needs and demand for reliable, cost effective and versatile means of sensing water levels in a variety of applications.

The Boiler Trim Electronic Level Indicators are designed as an electronic alternative to water level glass gages on steam boilers. They provide local and remote indication, analogue outputs as well as custom alarms and trip outputs. The system consists of a water column, electrodes, and a Detection Verification electronics unit.

Many opportunities exist to use these indicators at older installed boilers utilizing camera transmitted gage images, fiber optic systems and mirrors. All electronic units are designed around reliable, continuous and uninterrupted low maintenance operation.

For information on these and other Tyco Valves and Controls products manufactured at our Prophetstown facility, please contact your nearest Penberthy or Tyco product distributor, or feel free to contact the factory directly.

Remote Liquid Level Indicator
Penberthy is pleased to introduce the Remote Liquid Level Indicator (RLLI). This indicator which is a product of trim design specialists, represents water level by comparing a constant head to the variable head of the liquid in the vessel. The RLLI is very versatile and can also be used on feedwater heaters, elevated storage tanks, and open tanks.

Sanitary Jet Pumps
Penberthy is proud to announce that we have the following six models in our sanitary jet pump line.

Models SLL, SLM, SLH, SGL, SGH and SHLM in sizes 1", 1 1/2", 2" and 3". Please note that the letter "S" shown in front of our current model designations indicates that the unit is for sanitary design. The performance characteristics for these units are the same as the standard units. Therefore, the sizing tables shown in Penberthy Bulletin #1200 (Pumping Liquids), Bulletin #1300 (Pumping Gases) and Bulletin #1400 (Heating Liquids) would apply to these units.

  • Models SLL, SLM and SLH are used to pump liquids with a liquid as the operating source. Model SLM can also be used to pump gases with a liquid as the operating source
  • Models SGL and SGH are used to pump liquids with steam as the operating source. These two models are also used to pump gases or steam with either another gas or steam as the operating source
  • Model SHLM is an in-line heater that is used to head a liquid flow stream using steam.

GST Jet Pump
The model GST (Gas operated Solid Transport) jet pump is designed to pneumatically convey powders and bulk solids via dilute phase. The Penberthy GST is useful in applications where fast, efficient transfer of particulate dry solids is desired. An excellent replacement for conventional auger or belt conveyors, the GST has the advantage of containment of the material being moved and the material is not susceptible to loss or external contamination.

Unlike a vacuum-based system that uses suction entrainment, the GST is a true pump that entrains at the material source and pushes the mix through the system. The Penberthy GST jet pumps use the tendency of a moving stream of air to shear toward a boundry surface, known as Coanda effect. This shearing effect and the geometry of the jet pump causes an entrainment of ambient air and solid material in front of the jet pump. The air and entrained solid materials are then transported down a length of pipe. In general, piping and feed requirements that provide good material flow in an existing vacuum or blower system are applicable to the GST jet pump. The material feed is at ambient pressure, thus the use of rotary valves and / or blow tanks may be eliminated. In certain applications, the model GST used alone can replace the function of some dual vacuum / positive pressure systems.

Typical industries that can benefit from the use of the model GST are:

  • Plastic / resins manufacturers and users
  • Particulate chemical manufacturers and users
  • Grain handling
  • Mining
  • Fertilizers
  • Sugar / salt mills
  • Other food products
  • Foundries
